Our Point of View

Born from Rei Kawakubo's relentless interrogation of suiting, this velvet blazer from Comme des Garçons Homme Plus is coated in a high-gloss lacquer finish that collapses the boundary between structure and sculpture. The fabric crumples and reflects light in equal measure, lending the jacket an almost liquid presence that feels both confrontational and deeply considered. Worn open, it reads as wearable art; fastened, it commands a room.
